How to Create a Data Entry Form in Excel (Step-by-step Guide)

Excel offers the ability to make data entry easier by using a form, which is a dialog box with the fields for one record. To create a form you just need to put your data in a table and the click the Form button in the data menu. The form allows data entry, a search function for existing entries, and the ability to edit or delete the data. You can also set up Data Validation to ensure that which certain criteria are accepted.


How to add the Form tool to Excel? 

Lets start withh adding form option: 


Step 01: Click on the file tab from top left


Then click on the Options 


OR, You can open that box from Quick Access Toolbar. Click the small down arrow at the top bar, and then choose More Commands in the pop-up menu.



Step 02:  Under the Excel Options dialog box, select Quick Access Toolbar.


Step 03: Select All Commands under the choose Commands from. Then find the form option, select and click on add. then press ok.


After that you will get the form option in the top ribbon


How to make data entry form in Excel?


A data entry form is only available for a Excel table. To get the data using form, you need to put your data in a table and the click the Form button.
