The default background color of a slide in Microsoft PowerPoint is white. Changing the background color helps call more attention to a specific slide.

Step-by-Step Guide to Changing Backgrounds in PowerPoint

Format the slide background with color:

In the Ribbon, click the Design tab.

Click the Format Background option on the right side of the Design tab.

The “Format Background” dialog box will appear. Here, you can choose the type of fill you want to use and customize the colors and effects

Once you have made your selections, Don't click “Apply to All” to change the background only for the slide you have selected.

By default, the selections you make apply to the current slide. If you want them to apply to all slides in your file, at the bottom of the pane, select Apply to All.

Thanks
