How to Insert an Image in Photoshop

Un Answered
Admin

Want to insert or open an existing picture into your Photoshop document? You can easily insert an image into your current project as a new layer. there is two options you can use for that.

1 - Open command

2 - Place Embedded command

we will disuss the difference between the Open command and the Place Embedded command in Photoshop.

Let's start with Open command / Import an Image into Photoshop

Step 01: Click File at the top of the screen on the menu bar. Then Select the Open option on the drop down menu.

Go to the file browser to find the image you want to insert. Select an image & Press Open to open the image in Photoshop. or double click on selected image

And the image will open in Photoshop in a neew layer as expected:

Type 2 - Place Embedded command

If  you want to open the image as a layer in an existing document, which makes it easy to blend two images together! you need to use place option for that.

Step 01: To do that go to the File option. I’ll choose this time Place Embedded option: In some version you will get the name as  Place Only

Then, same as open. find your image and select and now click Place.

The second image will open in the same document as an other layer.

You can do this by dragging the image from your desktop onto the Photoshop document. But in some version dragging not working
