It looks like you're trying to set a background image in MS Word using Page Layout > Page Color > Fill Effects but encountering issues with resizing. Here’s an alternative and better way to set a background image and control its size:

Method 1: Using Watermark Feature

  1. Go to the "Design" Tab (or "Page Layout" in older versions).
  2. Click "Watermark", then select "Custom Watermark".
  3. Choose "Picture watermark" and click "Select Picture".
  4. Browse and select your image.
  5. Adjust the Scale (Try "Auto" first; if it doesn’t fit, try different percentage values).
  6. Uncheck "Washout" if you want full color.
  7. Click OK.

Method 2: Using Header & Footer (For More Control)

  1. Double-click inside the Header or Footer area.
  2. Click "Picture" (in the "Insert" tab), then select your image.
  3. Resize and Position the image manually by dragging its corners.
  4. Right-click the image, choose "Wrap Text" > "Behind Text".
  5. Close the Header/Footer.

Method 3: Insert Image as a Page Background

  1. Click "Insert" > "Pictures" and choose your image.
  2. Resize the image to cover the full page.
  3. Right-click the image and select "Wrap Text" > "Behind Text".
  4. Drag the image to fit the page perfectly.

Final Tip:

If the image does not fully cover the page, resize it manually (drag the corners) or use an image editor to adjust its dimensions before inserting it.
